For writers
The index-card wall, without the index cards
Scenes, chapters, articles and pitches as sticky notes you can move around. Drag a draft from doing to done. It lives in your new tab, so the work is waiting for you every time you open the browser.
Why it fits the way writers work
- It looks like paper. Handwritten-style notes on a cork board, not rows in a project tool. Moving a note feels like moving a card on the wall.
- Sketch on a note. A pen, highlighter and shapes for a quick plot arc, a floor plan of the scene, or arrows between characters.
- Checklists inside a note. Break a chapter into its beats, or an article into research, draft, edit, send.
- One board per project. A board for the novel, one for freelance pieces, one for pitches out with editors.
- Nothing to configure. No fields, tags or templates to maintain. That time goes back into the writing.
Three boards writers like
| Board | To do | Doing | Done |
|---|---|---|---|
| Novel | Scenes not yet drafted | The scene you are on | Drafted scenes |
| Freelance | Commissioned pieces | In draft or in edits | Filed and invoiced |
| Pitches | Ideas to pitch | Out with an editor | Answered |
Colour notes by point of view, act or client, and the shape of the whole project is visible at a glance.

Finally someone tries to make an application with fun UI instead of yet another default Tailwind look!

I really love this idea. Makes sense for us visually inclined people.

Simple, but top!

Can I write my draft in Stickyboard?
No, and that is on purpose. Keep writing in your editor of choice. Stickyboard is the wall next to the desk: what you are drafting, what is waiting, and what is finished.
Can I keep a separate board per project?
Yes. Add as many boards as you like, one per book, series or client, and switch between them with the coloured pills at the bottom of the screen.
Is it free?
Yes. Stickyboard is free on the web, as a Chrome extension and as a Mac app.
