Stick anything, from anywhere. Right-click a
sentence, a link or a whole page in Chrome and pick
Stick it. It lands on your board as a note, with the
page it came from written underneath. Or type sb in the
address bar, a space, then the thought, and press Enter. No tab
to find, no app to switch to. This lives in the Chrome
extension, where your board is already one new tab away.
-
It asks where things go, once. The first
capture opens your board and asks which one the note belongs on.
Tick always use the board I pick and from then on notes
land there quietly: nothing opens, nothing steals your focus,
and they are waiting next time you open a tab. The address bar
even tells you which board it is going to. Change your mind in
Settings under stick it from anywhere.
Fixed
-
A note added just as the board refreshed no longer hides
until you reload. The board quietly refreshes itself
whenever you come back to its tab. A note created in that same
instant was written onto the copy that had just been replaced,
so it only turned up after a reload. It stays on the wall now.
Fixed
-
Pressing Enter for the next checklist step works again.
It used to fail quietly and, worse, wipe the steps you had just
typed. The blank step you press Enter into now stays put with
your cursor in it, and nothing is sent to the server until you
have written something.
-
Line breaks in a description now show on the note.
Type three rows and you got one long sentence on the board. The
rows survive now. Two or more blank lines in a row are folded to
one, so a slipped Enter key doesn't leave a hole in the paper.
-
The description box grows as you type. It used
to stay small and quietly hide anything past the first few rows,
which looked like your text had disappeared into empty space.
Every row is visible now; only a very long description scrolls.
Improved
-
The board on a phone. Notes were two small
squares per row with every title wrapped onto two or three
lines. Each note is now one full-width card, lying flatter, with
a two-line preview of its description, and sketches stay the
size of a card instead of filling the screen. Columns stack
without the big empty gaps.
-
The board switcher on a phone. Board names stay
on one line, the bar scrolls sideways when they don't all fit,
and the + button stays pinned at the end so adding a
board never needs a scroll.
-
Note titles are a touch smaller with a hand-drawn
underline, so a long title stops eating half the paper
before the description starts. The editor's rows have a little
more room between them too.
New
-
Share a board with anyone, no account needed.
Any board can now live at its own address —
stickyboard.dev/you/wedding-plan — and whoever you
send it to just sees the board. No sign-up, no "request access",
nothing to install. It looks exactly like your board does,
because it is your board: same paper, same handwriting, same
cork. Open the board menu and pick
share / manage access to publish one, and the first
time you do you'll choose the name that goes in front of the
slash. Boards stay private until you say otherwise, and
unpublishing takes the link down straight away.
-
Let visitors move things around. A published
board is read-only by default, but you can switch on editing and
anyone with the link can add notes, drag them between columns
and tick checklists — still with no account. Useful for a
shared shopping list, a party plan, or a retro where you don't
want to make six people sign up. They can't empty your board:
binning notes stays with you, and so does everything on your
other boards.
-
A page for your published boards. If you want
one,
stickyboard.dev/you lists everything you've
made public. It's off by default and lives in settings — sharing
one board with one person shouldn't quietly build a public index
of everything else.
Improved
-
The Mac app fits its own window. The board had
a minimum width wider than the app itself, so it scrolled
sideways at almost every size, including the default. Columns
now share whatever room there is. The notebook also stops
swallowing the board when you open it in a narrow window.
-
Cmd+W hides the Mac app instead of quitting it.
Closing the only window used to end the process and take the
menubar icon with it, leaving no way back except relaunching
from Finder.
-
The Mac download is 1.6 MB instead of 23 MB.
The app was shipping a copy of its own installer inside itself.
-
The top bar fits on a phone. On narrow screens
the buttons used to push the sign-up button off the edge and
give the whole page a sideways scroll. The bar stacks now, and
the note colour swatches wrap instead of being squashed into
ovals.
Fixed
-
The login card picked its colour at random from a palette that
included the dark backgrounds, so it could come up with near-black
text on a near-black note. It now only picks note colours.
-
Smooth scrolling was leaking out of the landing page and onto
every jump in the app, including ones that should be instant.
New
-
Start using it without an account. Stickyboard
now opens straight onto a real board — no sign-up wall, no demo
mode. Write notes, drag them, sketch, use the focus timer; it
all works and it all saves in your browser, even offline. When
you're ready for an account, everything you already made comes
with you.
-
A notebook for each board. Some things aren't
tasks: meeting scribbles, links, the reason you're doing this at
all. There's a notebook button in the top bar that slides out a
ruled pad beside your board, with as many titled pages as you
want. It saves as you type, and the board stays visible next to
it.
Improved
-
Login codes are harder to attack. Requesting
codes and guessing them are both rate-limited now, and too many
wrong guesses retires the live code instead of leaving it up to
keep guessing at.
-
The new-tab suggestion waits its turn. The
prompt to put Stickyboard on your new tab used to appear the
moment the page loaded, before you'd done anything. Now it waits
until you've finished your first note.
-
Enter creates the note. Type a title, hit
Enter, done — no reaching for the button.
Fixed
-
Your offline copy was quietly saving boards without their notes,
so an offline board could come back empty. Fixed — the local
copy is now complete.
-
Letters that hang below the line (the g and y in "gym") were
getting clipped in the note title, and the last letter of a long
assignee name could be cut off. Both sit properly now.
New
-
Focus timer (Pomodoro). Start a focus session
from the top bar, on its own or pinned to a specific note. It
runs a work and break cycle (25 / 5, with a longer break every
four rounds), and when a session ends you get a soft chime and a
little "focus done" note. Finished sessions tally up on the note,
so you can see how much focus a task actually took. Nothing
auto-starts between phases, you begin each one when you're ready.
Improved
-
Sketching moved into the new-note flow. The pen
left the top bar. Now when you make a new note, there's a
sketch button right next to + step. Your typed
title carries over to the canvas, and if you cancel the drawing
you land back on the note you were writing, nothing lost.
New
-
Checklists on a note. Break a note into steps.
Open a note, hit + step, and add as many as you like.
Tick one off and it gets a hand-drawn strike. Progress shows
right on the note on the board, and you can check items off
straight from the board without opening it.
-
FAQ and how-to pages. Two new guides, at
stickyboard.dev/faq and
/how-to, covering the common questions and
step-by-step setup.
Improved
-
Stay signed in longer. Sessions now last 30 days
and refresh as you keep using the app, so you re-log-in far less
often.
New
-
Sketch tool got a major upgrade. The pen now has
friends: eraser, highlighter,
shapes (line, rectangle, circle, arrow),
redo (cmd+shift+z), a custom colour
picker beyond the five presets, and a
paper pattern picker (blank, lined, dotted,
grid). Same entry point, the pen icon next to + new
note.
-
Testimonials wall on the landing. A corkboard of
real quotes from real Reddit and Chrome Web Store reviews, each
clickable through to the original.
-
Apply your font to the whole app. Settings
→ font now has an
apply to the whole app toggle. Flip it, and your
chosen font runs across column headers, settings, the lot. The
brand wordmark stays Caveat regardless.
-
Cross-tab sync. Open Stickyboard in two tabs (or
the new-tab extension on two devices), drag a note in one, the
other updates within seconds. Shared boards stay in sync between
members without anyone having to refresh.
Improved
-
The app updates itself, faster. Before, you had to
close every tab to pick up a new release. Now: open Stickyboard,
switch to a different tab, switch back, the new version is
already there.
- Cleaner unsubscribe flow in product-update emails (one-click toggle in settings).
New
-
History view. Account menu → history. Browse
everything you've finished, grouped by day. Restore anything you
finished by mistake.
-
Auto-archive. The Done column quietly tidies
itself after a week. Change the threshold (never / 1 / 7 / 30 days)
in settings → archive.
-
Font picker. Pick between handwritten (the
original), clean (rounded sans), or marker (bolder).
-
Password login. Set a password in settings; next
time, type it instead of waiting for an email code. The email-code
flow still works if you forget.
-
Email preferences. Toggle product updates on / off
in settings → email.
Improved
-
Board switcher. The tabs at the bottom of the
board became coloured pills, one per board, each in the
board's own colour.
-
New Mac app (v0.3.0). Syncs reliably the moment you
open the menubar popover. Binary is about 23% smaller. Re-download
if you grabbed the earlier menubar app.
- Mobile notes are title-only now, so a stack actually fits on screen.
-
Sessions expire cleanly, no more half-stuck UI when your
login times out.
Fixed
- Drag-and-drop is reliable on every Mac, including the menubar app.
- Various small visual polish on the landing and the new-note flow.
New
-
Draw & write on your notes. A pen next to
+ new note opens a full-screen canvas. Sketch a diagram,
scribble by hand, or drop typed text anywhere, then save it
as a note on your board.
-
Mac menubar app. Stickyboard lives in your menu
bar; click the icon and your board drops down. No dock clutter, no
window juggling.
-
Install as a real app. Add Stickyboard to your
home screen (iPhone: Share → Add to Home Screen) and it runs
full-screen, offline-capable, like a native app.
Fixed
- Renaming a board works reliably now.
- Press Esc to close a note.
- Smoother drag-and-drop (notably in the desktop app).
- Click a column title (To do / Doing / Done) to add a note right there.
v0.1.0
April 2026 · launch
New
-
The first wall. A board, three columns (To do /
Doing / Done), drag-and-drop, hand-drawn sticky notes with paper
grain, sheen, and a curled corner.
-
Replaces your new tab. The Chrome extension turns
every new tab into your board, so you see it 30+ times a day
without opening anything.
-
Shareable boards. Invite someone by email to
collaborate on a board.
-
The bin. Drag a note out of the columns to a soft
cleanup pile, recoverable, not deleted.
-
Multiple boards. One per project, area of life,
or whatever you want. Switch via the tabs at the bottom.
